Owlthena didn’t publish last week so this week’s issue is a bit of a catch up. Here’s what’s hot for business leaders this week, but first, a thank you to all our veterans for their vital role in keeping our country safe. The “do good” spotlight this week is in your honor with our heartfelt thanks.
And here’s this week’s briefing.
- We saw this via Linda Waterhouse. Did you know about LinkedIn’s Social Selling Index (SSI)? None of us had, so we wanted to share this with you. Click here when logged into LinkedIn to get your own SSI score. As Linda says, let’s not backslide into the early days of social media where individuals were hell bent on upping their scores just to up their scores, but do use the rating to see where you may be able to improve your own score and thereby help your personal brand.
- In this piece for Harvard Business Review, Lyn Denend, Paul Yock, and Dan Azagury discuss ways to win at gender equality in the workplace, citing their work in healthcare tech, a traditionally male-dominated space, and a very interesting survey of male and female workers. Hint: they focused on “perceptions gaps.”
- Are you familiar with Warrant Buffet’s wallet test for the hiring process? Well, researchers have gone deeper with interesting results. Here’s more from Inc. Another great article from Jeff Haden!
Do Good Spotlight: The Wounded Warrior Project
Each time we publish What’s Hot Wednesday, we select a not-for-profit to feature and support with a donation. This week we’re honoring America’s veterans with a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. If you’re not familiar with WWP, its focus is veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001.
I hope the rest of your week goes well and that you’ve got great plans for the weekend. Enjoy!
