Do Good Spotlight: The Clooney Foundation for Justice
The Clooney Foundation for Justice (yes, those Clooneys) advocates for justice through accountability for human rights abuses around the world. Founded by George and Amal Clooney, the organization has several initiatives that keep attention on different types of injustices, from unfair trials to dirty money movements to pressing for punishment of corporate criminals. I donated to this organization this week to help support the good works its doing around the world.
- Scott Mautz provides 3 powerful points packaged in a “5 Ways” article: Why you should ignore trolls, how Steve Jobs got Tim Cook to join Apple; and then the 5 ways to keep yourself and your team creating.
- What’s your experience with employees’ working long hours and balancing the need for better work/life balance? I was a little surprised the 80-hour work week is becoming increasingly common. I’m not talking about business owners, we have our own rhythms around work and everything else, I’m asking about the people who work for you…I thought more folks were working closer to 40 hours a week these days but this article says employees are grinding and 80 hours a week isn’t unusual. Let me know what you’re seeing and if I hear a wide range of info, I’ll share anecdotally in an upcoming What’s Hot Wednesday. Here’s the NY Times story on this that made me wonder.
