We’re celebrating an anniversary today! Owlthena turns one! It’s been an exciting year for us all as we pioneer a whole new approach to helping business owners regain the clarity they need to do their thing.

Thanks to all of you who’ve tried Owlthena this past year. We’ve heard again and again that the magic is really in the combination of: 1) setting aside the time (one time, one hour) and the space (confidential video chat) to be listened to by someone who “gets it” and will coax you through the thinking that’s blocking your flow and get you back on track so you can take action.

If you’ve got something weighing on your mind and you just can’t get out of your own way, make an appointment and we’ll have you back to a clearer perspective in no time.

This week’s What’s Hot Wednesday for Business Owners shares innovative ways to increase productivity, how to assess your company’s digital maturity, and the science behind what makes introverts and extroverts different. Plus, our Do Good Spotlight features the Boys and Girls Club of Trenton and Mercer County.

  • Does your team want to listen to music while they work? When is this a good idea? Does the type of music matter? Is it helpful to everyone all the time? Check out this article by Aytekin Tank for JotForm’s blog for the answers.
  • How does your company’s digital maturity compare to others’? Wait, don’t run, come back! Checking it out is easy. Deloitte surveyed 1,200 execs, summarized their findings, and created this check list for the rest of us. Take the quiz (it takes 2 minutes, tops), see how your company compares. Then see the resources Deloitte suggests for improving your company based on your score.

Doing Good Spotlight: Boys and Girls Club of Trenton and Mercer County

The Boys & Girls Club of Trenton and Mercer County services thousands of youth with critical after-school and summer programs. 100% of its teens graduate high school (versus 50% of their peers), with the vast majority completing post-secondary education too. Learn more here.  And the B&G Clubs of Trenton and Mercer County has earned a 4-star Charity Navigator rating with an overall score of 95.47, so you can be confident your donations are supporting the kids.

  • I’m fascinated by the science helping us to understand the differences
between introverts and extroverts. It’s helping me to better interact and communicate with the people around me at work as well as at home. This short read by Jennifer Granneman for Quiet Revolution explains the latest research about the chemicals in our brains that stimulate some and overstimulate others.  Read more here, and vive la différence!

I hope you enjoyed this read on our first anniversary here at Owlthena. We’re going to have a great rest of the day, we all hope you do too!
