So…how’s it going…? I hope things are on the upswing and that you, your family and friends, and your business colleagues are staying healthy.
We have a few stories that caught the Owlthena team’s attention this week to share and we’re shining our Do Good Spotlight on a new client of Owlthena’s parent company, Digital Brand Expressions. They’re called Patients Rising, check out the spotlight below for why we love what they do!
- In this piece for Inc. Magazine, Bill Murphy, Jr. wonders what business United Airlines is really in when he learns they are considering spinning off their $5B frequent flyer program. It reminded me of a story I heard years ago, pre-social media, in which Avon couldn’t figure out why sales of “Skin So Soft,” a moisturizer, went through the roof every summer. Turns out people were sharing via word of mouth that it was an excellent mosquito repellant. So, what business are you really in? Can you reframe what you’re doing and for whom to leverage your assets for a brighter tomorrow? Here’s the Inc. piece.
- I’ve shared in the past I’m a fan of Blinkist, so I’m suggesting that resource to you again. It’s a paid service that summarizes business books and books on topics of interest to businesspeople. Summaries are audio and/or written (most seem to be both). It’s an easy to use app and great for keeping yourself productive when you have bits and pieces of time between meetings and big tasks. Here’s the link to Blinkist that gets you 7 days free. And I’m recommending you listen or read the summary of “How to Have Impossible Conversations” by Peter Boghossian and James A. Lindsay.
- We just thought this was cool—not sure what it means for you and/or your business, but it got our brain waves waving and we wanted to share. Zero touch tech can help make push buttons obsolete—and reduce the spread of diseases that thrive on contact.
